Ian Bailey

Ian has been in the financial services industry since 1985 and has specialised in Self-Managed Superannuation Funds and Direct Investments since the early ’90s.

Ian conceived the vision of providing investors and advisors with a complete SMSF solution, a solution that Bailey Roberts Group provides today. He has been instrumental in the development of BRG from a modest Wollongong based business providing services to its clients and advisors into one of Australia’s most innovative Financial Services firms offering solutions to investors and advisers all over Australia.

Ian has completed the Diploma of Financial Planning in 1995 and a Master of Commerce in 1999.

Michael

Michael Roberts

Michael is a Director and Responsible Officer of Bailey Roberts Group. Michael brings to the Group twenty-nine years of experience in Financial Services and qualifications in Financial Planning, Business Management and Tax Law.

Since 1984, Michael has owned and operated financial advisory businesses. In 2000, he co-founded the Bailey Roberts Group with Ian Bailey. The merger of their businesses created the economies of scale needed to resource their vision of creating a system of managing individual portfolios, known as Monitored Investor-Directed Asset Service (MIDAS).

As well, Michael is the Managing Director of financial advisory firm, BRG Private Wealth, which specialises in managing the wealth of international and expatriate families through its offices in Sydney, Hong Kong and Zurich.

Michael holds licenses to provide securities advice and asset management services in Australia and Hong Kong.

Michael is a member of the Financial Planning Association of Australia, the Taxation Institute of Australia and the Hong Kong Securities Institute.

Ian Poidevin

Portfolio Operations Manager

Ian is responsible for the overall operations of the portfolio administration department, his role is to ensure that all aspects of our portfolio administration system provide the highest level of service to our advisers and clients. With over 10 years experience in the industry Ian has been responsible for all areas of portfolio administration including system development, investment strategies, preparation of client investment information, share trading and portfolio rebalancing. Ian has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Wollongong, and an Advanced Diploma in Accounting.

Jon Kilah

Investment Committee

Jon is an investment analyst as part of the asset management team and commenced employment with the Bailey Roberts Group in 2006. His analysis focuses on the Portfolio Construction, Income Bearing, International Equities and Australian Real Estate Investment Trusts (AREIT) model portfolios.. He holds a Masters of Applied Finance (Investment Management), Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and Economics) and Diploma of Financial Services

Carla Giorgio

Investment Analyst

Carla has recently joined our group as a trainee investment analyst and forms part of our asset management team. Carla is in her final weeks of study, completing a Bachelor of Economics and Finance with a double major in Finance & Economics at the University of Wollongong. As a Trainee Analyst Carla is responsible for delivering research and other support activities to assist in the management of all asset class portfolios.

Nilesh Chauhan

Strategic-Planner

Nilesh is the para-planning officer. His primary responsibility is to assist the advisers to prepare financial plans, including performing calculations to compare alternative strategies to meet the client’s objectives. He is also responsible for providing technical support to the advisers in the area of business re-structure, finance and tax.

He holds a degree in Economics and Accountancy from Loughborough University in England, Diploma of Financial Planning and is a Chartered Accountant.

Suzy Dimitrievski

Practice Manager

Suzy joined the BRG team in 2006. With a keen eye for detail, Suzy assists our Advisers and Managing Directors as well as ensuring that the BRG offices operate as seamlessly & efficiently as possible. Suzy works with our entire team to ensure that our clients receive the consistent high quality service that they deserve.

Suzy’s qualifications include Certificate III in Business Administration and a complete Personal Assistant Course. Suzy is a fast learner and eager to be of assistance. These qualities and her strong interest in the industry ensure the smooth operation of our offices.

Sophie Mortimer

Administration Officer

Sophie’s role is to provide administration support to the different departments within Bailey Roberts Group.

Sophie is responsible for performing a range of administrative tasks within the organisation including scheduling appointments, handling client queries and correspondence and maintaining client files both electronic & hardcopy.

Sophie has extensive customer service skills & also holds a Certificate III in Business Administration.
